The saga continues. We had planned to spend this week with my parent’s home in Florida, but due to “a series of unfortunate events”, our trip south got cancelled at 1 pm. We scrambled to find an alternate destination, as an unplanned staycation with the girls appealed to neither My Husband nor myself.
Thanks to Groupon, we have landed in the Redneck Riviera at the Crown Reef Resort…a Walmart-esque version of Great Wolf Lodge (they were booked). For ~$90 a night, the accommodations are quite decent. The room is an oceanfront efficiency, is clean and recently updated.
The girls, of course, had to visit the onsite water park prior to us finding dinner. We have finally arrived at the Flying Fish and are more than ready to tuck into their excellent fresh seafood.
The ambiance could be improved, however, if the woman at the table next to us was not shouting into her phone about someone’s work shift at Foodlion/Walmart/Wings. I guess going to Myrtle Beach is like going to a national park…one needs remember they are a visitor, and should not expect the local fauna to conform to one’s own expectations of how they should behave….
